Ladies in Tune meet every Tu/Th from 710-745 am in the Vocal Music Room.

All Softball Players should stop in the office and pick a Pasty Sale Order Form. This fundraiser is for all players not just those going to Alabama.  The sale will be Saturday, February 8th. Orders and payments are due into the Main Office by Friday, January 31st. Questions stop in the office and talk to Michele. 


Starting on Monday, Jan 6th there will be Girls Open Gym @ DES from 6 - 730pm.  Bring your GLOVES and BATS so you can swing and throw.

Student Announcements:

International Students Club is hosting a meal before the Girls Basketball Game on Saturday, January 11th! The meal will be made by our foreign exchange students. Cost is $5 and will be in room B5 starting at 11 AM. Sign up is in your grade level google classroom. Please sign-up by Thursday at noon so we know how much food to prepare!  Friends and family are welcome, but add them to the form when you sign-up.  Danke, Merci, and Grazie. Come and enjoy a sampling of goodies from France, Germany, and Italy!

Students interested in the Spring Trap Shooting Team are to stop in the main office to pick up the new information packet.  There will also be a Hunters Safety Class Offered on Saturday, March 21st. Details for the class are also in the information packet in the spinner on the counter.

The library will be having it's Books n' Beans coffee bar on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Fresh brewed coffee will be available before school and during passing times. $1 or $.50 if you bring your own cup.

Snowball Guest Dance Forms are now available in the main office in the spinner. All guests must have a Dance Form turned in to attend.  Snowball will be Saturday, February 15th, from 7 - 11pm and $7 entry.

FFA Officer Applications for next years Officer Team must be to Mr. McGraw by January 17, 2020.

Students may stop in the library to “Tie a Knot”.  The DHS LMC will be preparing military care packages including the tie blankets made by students for DHS Alums actively enrolled in the military. Care kits will be shipped at the end of January. Please stop by the library during passing, lunch, or advisory to help with this special service project!

The DHS LMC will be highlighting the works of author C.S. Lewis with a spotlight on his series the "Chronicles of Narnia" (available for check-out in the LMC) through related winter themed activities during the months of December and January.  Come enter the winter world of Narnia through the wardrobe in the LMC and experience the following activities:

  • - DHS Coat and Winter clothing drive during January-- please help "fill our wardrobe" (details to come)

  • - Lunch and learn on the life of author C.S. Lewis (TBA  in January)

  • - Lunch and learn on the Science behind Snowflakes (TBA in January)

  • C.S. Lewis "Learn Calligraphy" (TBA in January)

DECA meeting today is mandatory for everyone competing in districts. There will be practice material along with permission slips available at the meeting that are due on Friday. Money for districts will also be due on Friday with the permission slip.

Key Clubbers:  We have 3 service projects for this Saturday, Jan 11.  (1) Our help is needed for making pasties at Plymouth Church from 6am-8am.  (2) We have bingo at Crestridge from 10:15-11:45 and (3) bingo at Bloomfield from 1:15 - 2:45.  Please check the sign up forms in the google classroom or stop by room F14 to sign up.

YEARBOOK

Yearbook members, you have been assigned a spread in the yearbook. Please see the bulletin board outside Ms. White's room for your assignment. There is also a sign up sheet for taking photos at various school events. Please sign up for upcoming events.

 

To all club advisors, Yearbook will be sending one of its members to club meetings this month to take a club group photo. It shouldn't take long! If you would prefer to take a club group photo yourself please feel free to do so and send it to Ms. White or Ms. Perry.
